Unforeseen development at Dynamo Dresden - Thomas Brendel named as Sport's Head

After a dramatic presentation in front of the supervisory board ended in a scandal due to an inside mole exposing confidential information, the truth has been revealed. The club has officially announced the news.

Michael Ziegenbalg, Vice Chairman of the Supervisory Board, commented on Brendel's appointment, stating, "Thomas is well-versed in the intricacies of German professional soccer and brings with him a sizable network as well as profound experience and a clear philosophy of soccer and management culture that aligns with Dresden’s values."

In Brendel's own words, "I'm deeply honored to be entrusted with this important role and to contribute to such a renowned club. I'm eager to meet the entire Dynamo community, especially the devoted fans who will surely lend their enthusiastic support during the forthcoming season."

Brendel's tenure at FSV Frankfurt as sports director concluded quite recently. He was dismissed after the news of his upcoming role at Dynamo Dresden emerged. An agreement was later reached between Brendel and FSV to end his contract.

Brendel's duties as Managing Director Sport will commence on June 1. He has previously played for several clubs, including 1860 Munich, Kickers Offenbach, FC Schweinfurt 05, SV Wehen Wiesbaden, and FSV Frankfurt, among others.
