Fifteen-year-old Hayes, son of Kevin Costner, is the focus of the article. - This youth is a major figure in Cannes.
Kevin Costner (69), widely regarded as a prominent figure in Hollywood, is behind movies like "Dances with Wolves" (1990) and "Bodyguard" (1992), which continue to hold their own even today. His latest venture "Yellowstone" is a massively successful series.
At the 77th Cannes International Film Festival, Costner showcased the first part of his new western project titled "Horizon: An American Epic". Noteworthy is that his son, Hayes, who's 15, made his big-screen debut in this three-hour-long project. He embodies a younger version of Kevin Costner's character in the film.
Father and son looked dashing at the photocall, both dressed in white suits, both radiant under the sun, and both oozing charm.
Hayes is the offspring of Costner's former marriage to Christine Baumgartner (49). Costner and Baumgartner tied the knot in 2004 and divorced in 2024, sharing three children.
After gushing about his son's talent, Costner allowed to "People" in an interview last year, "He's really good." And to dispel any rumors of nepotism, Costner further stated, "I didn't give him the role for self-serving reasons. I did it so I could spend more time with him."
Hayes isn't the first of Costner's seven children to venture into acting. His children featured in "The Postman" (1997) alongside him.
Considering Costner's commitment to "Horizon" since 1988, this film could be considered his eighth child. Costner to "People", "Horizon" means a great deal to me. It was by far the most challenging thing I've ever done, but it's also exactly what I wanted to do."
"Horizon" reportedly consists of four parts. The first part is scheduled for release in German cinemas on August 22. By then, Hayes could very well become a new rising star.
