Bundesliga player transferred to the German parliament team - The State Secretary engages in soccer activity.

As the sporting director and coach, Oliver Luksic desires to guide FC Bundestag to victory at the 51st European Parliamentary Championship in Switzerland. Moreover, he receives guidance from coaching icon Felix Magath.

Luksic, currently the state chairman of the FDP in Saarland and State Secretary within the Federal Ministry of Transport, participates as a player-coach. The German political team plans to face opposition from Finland, Austria, and Switzerland until the tournament concludes the following day.

Luksic was once a striker who aimed to score against opponents. This was evident in his youth, when he played for 1. FC Saarbrücken nearly a decade ago. He even won the C-Youth Saarland Championship with them in 1994.

The team is eager for victory: "We're hitting the field with absolute dedication to reclaim the title." The championship title slipped away last year as FC Bundestag finished fourth at the 2023 European Championships.

Contrary to the previous scenario, the MPs' team emerged victorious the year before. The European Championship event held in Lathi, Finland, witnessed them winning the tournament. Luksic was a prolific scorer with five goals.

The soccer tournament amongst parliamentary teams from Austria, Switzerland, and Finland has been happening annually since 1971. It not only pits them against each other athletically but also helps foster camaraderie and friendship between the parliamentarians. Luksic states, "Especially during difficult political times, such common values carry great significance."

Regardless, Luksic refuses to be compassionate in front of the opponent's net: "After all, I wish to reclaim the top scorer's crown."
