Gossip circulating in the U.S. claims Madonna (65) and her beau, Joshua Popper (30), are calling it quits. Speculations suggest their relationship hit a rough patch after approximately a year together.
Insufficient time for one another?
The American tabloid "Sun" insinuates that distance may have played a role. Madonna allegedly had an overcrowded schedule, causing a deficit of time spent with her boxing coach boyfriend during her "Celebration" tour, which concluded in May. An anonymous source relayed, "Madonna scarcely saw Josh due to her packed timetable. Their connection simply lost momentum." However, the pair's split doesn't seem to be contentious - "there's no ill-will - they still like each other. Current circumstances make their partnership less sustainable, and matters have calmed down, but they remain acquaintances."
Whispers of courtship between the two surfaced early 2023, when Page Six alleged Madonna was cheering on Popper at one of his boxing competitions in New York City. The pop icon announced her romance days later by posting a picture of them locking lips. They both wore masks and sported all-black outfits. It's assumed they met when Popper was tasked with providing boxing training to her son, David (18).
He was periodically on stage with her
Josh Popper accompanied the international singing sensation to several live events - and on occasion, shared her spotlight. For instance, during Madonna's Brooklyn performance in December 2023, he grinningly sat beside her on stage, critiquing the dancers' moves to her hit 'Vogue'.
