The Silver Sevens Casino in Las Vegas Prepares for Significant Renovation and Restyling

The Silver Sevens Hotel & Casino on Flamingo Road in Las Vegas outside the Strip is scheduled for a significant makeover.

Las Vegas-based Affinity Interactive has declared intentions to revamp and rebrand its Silver Sevens property, with the outcome being the restoration of The Continental Casino & Hotel. According to an Affinity statement, The Continental will serve as a nostalgic homage to Vegas' golden age of excitement, accessibility, and affordability, cherished by locals and tourists alike for gaming and hospitality.

Established in the '80s as Herbst Gaming, which handled slot operations at the Herbst family's Terrible Herbst gas stations, Affinity Interactive initially entered the casino industry in 1996 with the opening of Terrible's Town Casino in Pahrump. Over the years, Terrible's casinos expanded to Henderson and Searchlight. Herbst Gaming acquired the ailing Continental in 2000, detaching it from its original brand and changing it to Terrible's Hotel and Casino. In 2013, the hotel-casino was renamed Silver Sevens.

Through multiple transitions, Herbst Gaming morphed into Affinity Gaming in 2011, and transitioned again in 2021 to Affinity Interactive following its acquisition of Daily Racing Form, the renowned horse racing publication.

Today, Affinity Interactive ceases to be a family-owned venture and has become a business controlled by New York-based private equity firm Z Capital Partners.

Redefining the Casino, Dining Experiences

According to Affinity Interactive, its revamp of the Silver Sevens encompasses "considerable investments in gambling options and adding a selection of unique dining venues."

After exiting Las Vegas for six years, Pink Taco, a restaurant chain from Los Angeles, will return to Southern Nevada. Pink Taco was founded by the late Harry Morton, whose father Peter Morton helped found the Hard Rock Cafe® chain. Harry Morton passed away in 2019 due to undiagnosed coronary artery disease causing sudden cardiac arrest. Pink Taco boasts locations in Los Angeles, Boston, Miami, DC, and New York City.

"Our objective is to enhance the casino and hotel experience at Silver Sevens while maintaining its historical essence," said Andrei Scrivens, CEO of Affinity Interactive. "The Continental brand embodies our commitment to providing a distinct, top-notch, and reasonably priced experience to our community, simultaneously contributing to Las Vegas' increasingly renowned status as a globally recognized sports and entertainment hub."

Known for its affordable eats and beverages, the Silver Sevens houses about 400 slots and a smattering of table games in its modest casino. The property is a mile from the Strip area.

2025 Proposed Completion

Affinity Interactive's projected multimillion-dollar revitalization of the Silver Sevens is expected to conclude around 2025. In addition to Pink Taco, the renovated resort will feature a rooftop bar and lounge, offering vistas of the Las Vegas Strip skyline. The hotel-casino will mostly remain operational amid the transformation.
