A former Bundesliga player elucidates the matter. - The secret behind Bayern coach Kompany's motivation.

Bayern Munich has a new coach starting on July 1. Vincent Kompany (38), previously at Burnley, will be taking over from Thomas Tuchel (50).

The Belgian has signed a contract until 2027. Bayern announced the new-look leadership team on Wednesday, with a hefty fee of 10.5 million euros plus bonuses being paid to Burnley for Kompany's release.

Kompany's time as a coach outside of Germany means he's relatively unknown to the rest of the country. Jacob Bruun Larsen (25), who played under Kompany at Burnley last season, likens the former defender to Pep Guardiola due to his playing philosophy.

Kompany's Methods

"What's great is that he doesn't change when things go wrong or right," said Bruun Larsen about the new Bayern coach. "He stays true to himself and his principles. That's why we were always well-prepared under him. He never gets distracted."

Bruun Larsen also praised Kompany's leadership skills, noting that "He talks to everyone, whether they're experienced or young professionals. No one feels unnoticed by him."

Given that Kompany will be working with a large squad of players at Bayern, his ability to connect with many of them will be crucial. The former Burnley coach's readiness for the challenge at Bayern is already being backed by Bruun Larsen.

"I have complete trust in him with the Bayern job," proclaimed the Hoffenheim player. "Having had so many conversations with him, I know he has all the right qualities. This is just the start of a successful career for him."

Despite his youth, Bruun Larsen believes that the former Burnley coach is ready for the Bayern job. "[Kompany's] only weakness was that he didn't have a top club. But now he's there, and I have no doubt he will prove himself within the Munich ranks. He was already at a high level as a player, and he's taken his game to the next level as a coach. It was only a matter of time before he got to a club like Bayern."
