The prosecution claims that the bachelor focused his burglary spree on apartments and houses located in Hanover's Südstadt district. His targets were doors that were left unlocked by tenants and owners, making them easier targets for experienced thieves.
After being released from prison for burglary in March 2023, Matthias S. allegedly resumed his criminal activities. From the end of May until November 2023, he allegedly broke into several properties, including those on Marienstraße, Stolzestraße, Sallstraße, and Rautenstraße. The burglaries resulted in the theft of purses, cameras, laptops, identity papers, and cell phones, which combined to a total valued at 15,717 euros.
The police finally apprehended him on November 26, 2023, ending the series of thefts. At the beginning of the trial, Matthias S. did not make any statements. More information will be revealed in June.
