Political organisations or gatherings. - The Northern Greens aim to organize a general discussion in Neumünster.

At the state party conference held this weekend in Neumünster, Schleswig-Holstein's Green Party plans to have a general discussion about their involvement in government at the federal and state levels. "We've noticed that our members aren't overly excited about every compromise," said party chairwoman Anke Erdmann on Tuesday. As the legislative period reaches its midpoint in the north, it's time to reflect on their progress.

A debate is set to commence on Saturday with speeches from state ministers. This could cover topics such as the black-green plans in the state for protecting the Baltic Sea or the refugee payment card.

On Sunday, the discussion will shift to the European elections and agricultural policy, with notable guests like the President of the Farmers' Association, Klaus Peter Lucht, and Kirsten Wosnitza from the Farmers' Association. "They'll likely criticize us from various angles," said Erdmann. Ricarda Lang, leader of the Green Party, and Green MEP Rasmus Andresen will speak to the delegates in Neumünster.

In 2019, the Green Party surprisingly secured victory in the European elections in Schleswig-Holstein, with 29.1% of the votes, surpassing the CDU and SPD. Freitag, one of the party's co-chairmen, mentioned that the election in June isn't about rankings, but the state association generally outperforms the national average. Erdmann highlighted the importance of the party doing considerably better in the north than nationwide. However, 2019's election appeared to be a "climate election."

The Greens are also debating numerous substantive motions, including debates about the controversial CCS (carbon capture and storage) technology for storing CO2, municipal heat planning, climate and biodiversity preservation, and housing. These motions address topics like rent freezes and the socialization of the Vonovia real estate group. The Green Youth also hopes that the state development company being planned by the government will focus on buying and renovating housing before offering it at affordable rents.
