Emilia loses her leading position. - The most popular baby names in your region.
As per the GfdS, Sophia snatches the top spot in the list of the most Commonly used girls' names. She managed to beat Emilia, a favorite for the last three years, with a narrow lead of just four babies.
Have a look at the graph showcasing the three most chosen baby names in the German states.
Emma was placed at the third position, Mia at fourth, and Hannah at fifth.
Meanwhile, the ranking for the most frequently used boys' names remains unchanged from last year: Noah holds the #1 spot, Mattheo claims the #2 position, Leon grabs the #3 spot, Paul lands at #4, and Emil comes in at #5.
However, Emilia is not out of fashion completely. She is listed among the top 3 most popular girls' names in almost all German states, except for Schleswig-Holstein where she doesn’t feature in the top three.
