Monarch Charles reigned. - The individual's own cancer diagnosis was a mild surprise.

In his first formal engagement since receiving his cancer diagnosis, King Charles (75) left an impression: On Tuesday, he went to a cancer treatment facility in London alongside Queen Camilla (76). As per the Daily Mail, Charles disclosed to a chemotherapy patient that his cancer identification left him stunned. However, he deemed his condition "fine." After the appearance in public, the British monarch still pursued his cancer therapy.

"Mild surprise" from Charles on cancer diagnosis

However, cancer still weighs on him. Nevertheless, during his time at the Macmillan Cancer Centre at University College Hospital in London, the old Charles made an appearance again: resolute, uncomplaining, and with a grin. Charles looked easy-going and happy when reporters questioned how he was doing: "Fine," "okay," and "not so terrible" were the responses of a smiling King. Following a stint of chatting with a cancer patient in a wheelchair, he settled down next to her and relaxed through the interaction. Both continued the discussion with eye contact. In a following chat with a chemo patient at the clinic, Charles also shared his own cancer experience: "It's always a bit of a surprise when you find out, huh?" he said, giving a peek into his cancer journey.

Charles continues cancer therapy after engagement

Charles purposely picked his initial official engagement, for which his doctors gave their approval. He intended to convey to the world that early diagnosis is vital and that cancer treatment is effective. During the visit, the King was designated as the new patron of Cancer Research UK. In addition to his visit to Macmillan Cancer Support, Charles is likely to contribute his own experience to the new honorary post. Initially, the King appears to be on the mend after almost three months of outpatient cancer treatment. Meanwhile, his cancer therapy continues. Charles revealed to a patient, "I also have to be treated this afternoon." Thus, after the engagement comes the treatment. Charles is determined to keep going on his road to recovery, and the world has its fingers crossed for him.
