Poland loses World Cup match, ending in a score of 4-2. - The ice cream celebration goes on!

In a unique encounter, two players sporting the national eagle jersey go up against Poland.

Maksymilian Szuber (21, Arizona Coyotes) and Wojciech Stachowiak (24, Ingolstadt) represent the team hailing from their native land. Szuber calls Opole home, while Stachowiak is from Gdansk.

Szuber's pre-game remarks: "Family's in the stands, but we're not gifting anything to the Poles, mate."

The underdogs bring fierce competition, with each point mattering in the relegation battle. Our runners-up have a tough time against the 22nd-ranked team worldwide. Poland's defensive shield is tough to breach. At the first intermission, the scoreboard reads 0-0. Nico Sturm (29, San Jose) voices frustrations over the dubious ice quality.

Alex Ehl (24, DEG) shows no signs of hesitation. The fourth-line forward scores the opening goal, ending the drought - 1:0 (26). Dziubinski (35, Tychy), another Polish forward, gets riled up. He hurls his stick at Yasin Ehliz (31, Munich). Peterka (22, Buffalo) utilizes the power play, increasing the lead to 2:0 (36).

Ehliz (31, Munich) has his moment too, putting in 3:0 (45). Things nonetheless become dicey. 3:1 through Patryk Wajda (35, Jastrzebie), 3:2 by Komorski (22, Tychy). But we've got Peterka – 4:2 (57) and his fifth World Cup tally. Game over.
