The German Poker Bracelet Championship has identified its German Nine.

This year's German Poker Championship, also known as the DBM, took place on December 28th and 29th. The team competition was determined by the German Poker Bundesliga during the two-day event. It happened at "The Westin" in Leipzig, with the responsibility of organizing in the hands of Dr. Klaus Dietze's team from MSM Sportmarketing. The event continues on January 19th, 2019, when the German Nine will battle it out for the title of "German Bracelet Champion."

The DBM is the largest non-cash prize poker tournament in Germany, drawing over 800 players in 2018. The main prize in the championship round of the "German Nine" was a Hyundai i10. King's Resort Rozvadov was also a sponsor for the tournament. Dealers and floor staff from the popular King's Resort in Leipzig manned the tables and helped the poker players. In early January, these staff members will return to their regular workplace at the King's Resort in Leipzig, where they will assist in the fifth European Poker Sport Championship for the title and the prestigious golden bracelet.

The DBM 2018 started with two rounds of poker on December 28th with a €50 entry fee. 800 participants took part in the championship, each receiving 30,000 chips. Players had the option to earn bonus chips by participating in the Poker Bundesliga's preliminary tournaments. The first round began at 10 am for those who preferred an early start. For the other players, the event commenced at 6 pm sharp. The same order was followed on the second day, where the qualifying players were determined. Finally, the last player, number ten, was eliminated, leading to the German Nine final table. The final table will be held in Rozvadov, Czech Republic as part of the European Poker Sport Championship Festival on January 19th, 2019. The King's Resort will provide the TV table for the event, allowing viewers to follow along via livestream. The victor will not only receive fame and glory, as Dr. Klaus Dietze, from MSM Sportmarketing, often says, but also the iconic DBM bracelet.

Chip leader Stephan Förster comes to the final table with 4,910,000 chips. The short stack is Lisa Efinger, who will once again be a woman on the final table. Markus Ziegler, aka "-RealMrNice-," had a fantastic poker year in 2018, making it to the German Nine at the DBM with a chip count of 2,290,000. He also played in the PSPC (PokerStars Players NL Hold'em Championship) in the Bahamas and won a Platinum Pass worth $30,000. Ziegler's schedule starts off in a hectic manner with a return from the Caribbean for another poker tournament. His journey then continues to the King's Resort in Rozvadov for the final table. All nine finalists have already secured an EPSC (European Poker Sport Championship) package for the King's Resort, along with other prizes such as hotel vouchers. Additionally, former German bracelet champion Niko Köhn won a prize at the donation wheel. The DBM donation wheel has a sustained tradition. Here, donations are collected for a noble cause, and each individual in this game of chance had the opportunity to win smaller non-cash items.

DBM Final Table - German Nine Chipcounts:

  • 1 Stephan Förster – 4,910,000
  • 4 Michael Naumann – 3,820,000
  • 7 Jens Zimmer – 2,975,000
  • 9 David Pötzscher – 2,295,000
  • 6 Markus Ziegler – 2,290,000
  • 8 Tommy Militzer – 2,160,000
  • 2 Andreas Hihn – 1,955,000
  • 3 Hendrik Marmulla – 1,445,000
  • 5 Lisa Efinger – 950,000

Ziegler won the PokerStars Platinum Pass worth $30,000 in another prestigious poker event. He has a busy schedule, as he is set to return from the Caribbean at the start of the New Year. After his journey from the Caribbean, he must travel to the King's Resort in Rozvadov for the final table. Each of the nine finalists had previously earned an EPSC (European Poker Sport Championship) package for the King's Resort and other prizes during the event. Former German bracelet champion Niko Köhn also won something at the donation wheel. This tradition at the DBM involves collecting donations for a deserving cause and offers participants the chance to win small non-cash rewards.

The DBM final table, also known as the German Nine, will take place within the European Poker Sport Championship Festival in Rozvadov, Czech Republic on January 19th, 2019. King's Resort will provide the TV table, offering the chance to watch the event live. The winner can look forward to glory, fame, and the coveted DBM bracelet.

A 32-year-old man named Markus Ziegler has found himself among the top 9 of the German Nine in the DBM this year. Not only that, he also won a Platinum Pass package worth $30,000 in 2018. This means that he'll be playing in the PokerStars Players No-Limit Hold'em Championship (PSPC) in the Bahamas. Markus achieved this feat by taking part in the Platinum Pass Adventure at the xflixx online final. The promotion kicked off in May, and it included PokerStars ambassador Felix Schneiders, who went by the name xflixx in the event. He devised a "BRO Battle" with his fellow streamers "pantau77" (Murat Tülek) and "nikkymouse" (Nicklas Ehrenholz). People who wanted to join in could apply on Discord. Markus Ziegler was one of them.

Remembering the moment, Markus told his wife, "You can still dream."

Those who made it past the selection process went to Cologne to compete in the various Bro Battles in Sit-and-Gos. The total number of points accumulated in the preliminary rounds decided the starting stack for the online final. "RealMrNice" was one of those who claimed his Platinum Pass from Felix Schneiders personally. The 5th European Poker Sport Championship is happening from January 17 to 20, 2019, at King's Resort Rozvadov. The tournament guarantees an impressive €200,000 in prize money for the Main Event, with a buy-in of €150.00 + €25.00. The EPSC packages come with the buy-in and accommodation worth €380.00.
