Robots will handle medical documents for 3000 patients daily. - The first AI hospital has been inaugurated.

In 2024, China is planning to launch the first AI-powered hospital, where automated robot doctors are expected to treat approximately 3,000 patients daily. Marketed as "Agent Hospital," this innovative facility is being developed by a team of scientists from Tsinghua University, Beijing.

These virtual doctors have already proven their competence by answering 93.06% of the questions on the US medical licensing exam successfully. According to Liu Yang, the project's lead researcher, this futuristic institution promises significant advantages for both medical practitioners and the public.

Within its virtual walls, a total of 14 AI doctors and four nursing robots work diligently to care for their patients, diagnose illnesses, and create personalized treatment plans. The cuts in costs and manpower could potentially save millions of euros, allowing more resources to be allocated elsewhere.

The efficient AI hospital is capable of treating up to 10,000 patients within just a few days, whereas human doctors would take at least two years to achieve the same workload. This rapidity of operation is attributed to its simulated environment and AI doctors' ability to independently develop their skills.

AI doctors can diagnose diseases and make treatment suggestions

Moreover, these AI doctors can predict the spread and control of infectious diseases in a specific region, which is invaluable information for healthcare providers and public health officials. Medical students stand to benefit as well; they can train on AI patients instead of risking real lives.

Though promising, there are a few precautions to be observed before the hospital's grand opening. First, ensuring the safety and effectiveness of the AI technology and its compliance with national medical regulations are crucial. Secondly, research into the collaboration between AI doctors and human doctors is necessary to ensure optimal user experience.
