Drama over young Elias's hunger - The father guides the officers to his deceased child.
astonishingly shocking: Elias's three sisters, including his twin, had more than enough food and drink available. They were even overfed, authorities stated.
Bafflingly, the father seems oblivious to his own nutrition. A photo from the day Elias found his child lifeless in bed shows the Tyrolean truck driver greeting the police in the housing estate's parking lot.
Puzzling: Reportedly, oe24 learned that the four-time dad conversed with paramedics and officers in a distraught and bewildered state. The post-mortem examination disclosed that the young boy had perished a day before, during Easter Sunday - around the same time his parents are believed to have attended the Kufstein (Austria) Knight's Festival.
Unanswerable: It still remains a massive mystery why little Elias had to face such a cruel death due to malnutrition. The family consistently ordered fast food at night. The motive behind the starvation is a subject of ongoing investigation.
On the Friday preceding Easter, the family allegedly celebrated their eldest daughter's (6) birthday at McDonald's - with friends and siblings, but not Elias. Two days later, Elias passed away from severe malnutrition.
Due to the findings of the preliminary examination, the parents of Elias have been detained pending trial. So far, there is a suspicion that for weeks, they deliberately did not provide their child with food or liquids. In spite of the apparent worsening of his health status, they did not consult a doctor.
The inquiry will also examine potential other, medical grounds for Elias's death. "So far, there's not a single clue for that," the prosecutor's office declared.
Hence, while the father is silent, the mother said that the child had been unwell lately and lost his appetite. They were planning to schedule a doctor's appointment. The three other children of the couple are being taken care of by child and youth welfare.
