Booked in high-end ski resort - The cost of this deceitful pizza has gone viral.
Oh my goodness!
This guy had to cough up an outrageous 91.66 US dollars, or 84.95 euros, for a pizza with a 25-centimeter diameter. Check out the photo - it's a blackened Hawaiian with way too much cheese around the edges. His hand is next to it for reference.
Pizza at 2400 meters above sea level
The guy in the pic looks like a handyman from an assembly line, and he ordered in Aspen, Colorado, USA. Aspen is a posh ski resort situated 2400 meters above sea level. The priciest villas at the base of the Rocky Mountains set you back more than 60 million dollars!
Charlie Cando didn't give the name of the restaurant that charged him almost 92 dollars. But it's clear it wasn't just for the pizza. The total bill, with tip, came to 137.66 dollars, which converts to 127.59 euros. There was another pizza that arrived later, but he didn't have a picture of that one. "I didn't think it was any better," he said.
"This must be a scam"
Redditors commented on the post almost 800 times. A local resident wants to issue a formal apology. One user said, "This can only be a scam. I don't care where you ordered - two pizzas this bad shouldn't cost this much money anywhere."
To make things even less delicious, the Italian agricultural association Coldiretti recently published a gallery of pizza nightmares. Along with exotic toppings like snake (Asia) and kangaroo meat (Australia) that take some getting used to, the Italians also selected kebab.
