Köster disputes Knorr's claims - The confrontation between the top picks for European Monetary Union

Due to the major showdown between the European Championship contenders, VfL Gummersbach against Köster and the Lions:

Recently, Julian Köster encountered a 26:29 defeat against Füchse Berlin in the Liqui Moly Handball Bundesliga, even though he played well with Gummersbach. Contrastingly, the Lions (10th place) overcame THW Kiel with a score of 30:26 away from home, with Knorr making a comeback (following a lengthy absence due to a cold).

Which team has the upper hand between Germany's top European Championship contenders?

Paul Drux, a member of the national team (age 29) and captain of Füchse Berlin, offers his insights into the match. According to Drux: "Prior to the international break, Gummersbach was in good form, whereas the Lions experienced ups and downs before the Kiel match. However, I think Julian is slightly more likely to win with Gummersbach at home. This statement is not influenced by my emotional attachment to my previous club. The momentum favors Julian. Morale within the team is high. On the other hand, Juri and the Lions have experienced a more tumultuous season. Nevertheless, their form is improving. In the upcoming European League Final 4, they will face me in the semi-finals."

Drux commends: "Both players are now undisputedly part of our national team. Julian delivers a top-notch, consistent performance with Gummersbach, and he's also excelling in the national team alongside Johannes Golla, particularly in defense. Nevertheless, he's made remarkable progress in attack too."

Furthermore, Drux remarks: "What sets Julian apart is his extraordinary attacking and, above all, defensive prowess. He consistently exerts himself. Juri, in contrast, is more challenging to read. He's the player who can decide a game. His arm movement is particularly quick." Drux adds: "I enjoy watching both players. It's rewarding to witness their remarkable development in the national team and their respective clubs, as they have received significant attention in Germany, with more of a spotlight on Juri."
