Before the commencement of the second division, there will be 96 trials. - The Bundesliga squad prepares for a trial run.

Hannover 96 gets ready for the new season by taking on Real Madrid (2007) and Manchester United (2012). They also hosted a Europa League winner, Villarreal, who lost to Hannover 3-0 last season.

This year, Hannover will compete against their nearby rivals VfL Wolfsburg on July 27th. The match will be held at the Eilenriede Stadium. A day before that, on July 26th, there are plans for a season kick-off event with both fans and the team present.

However, the Heinz von Heiden Arena will be hosting an American Football event over the same weekend. On July 28th, a European League of Football game between Hamburg Sea Devils and Frankfurt Galaxy will take place there.

VfL Wolfsburg: Past Matches and Upcoming Clash!

The last time Hanover and Wolfsburg engaged in an official clash was about five years back. In April 2019, Hanover (shepherded by Waldemar Anton and Julian Korb) suffered a 1-3 defeat in Wolfsburg. The Hanover goal was netted by Hendrik Weydandt.

Recently, in 2022, these neighboring teams met before the season at a lighting tournament in Osnabrück, which resulted in a 1-1 draw. Their test match in fall 2021 also ended in a tie (3-3).

Hanover 96 will commence the fresh campaign in three weeks' time. The training date begins on June 23rd. Before the Wolfsburg match, there are fixtures against SC Hemmingen-Westerfeld (June 28th, 6 pm) and Ramlingen/Ehlershausen (June 29th, 3:30 pm) lined up.

More opposition teams await Hanover in the middle of the month. They will go to their training camp in Saalfelden, Austria in July.
