High-end lodging for famous individuals - The Berlin Regent Hotel will shut down by year's close.
The extravagant Regent Berlin hotel, operated by the Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG), will part ways with the conglomerate by the end of 2024. The news was communicated to the German Press Agency via a PR firm by the hotel's management on a recent Thursday.
With the current lease coming to an end on December 31, 2024, the Regent Berlin would no longer remain part of the IHG's list of hotels. However, the group will continue to manage more than ten hotels in Berlin, such as the InterContinental, Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, and Hotel Indigo.
The Regent Berlin is a well-known luxurious establishment in the city, having played host to various celebrities and soccer teams. Its stellar reputation has garnered the hotel a deserving fourth consecutive title of "Germany's Leading Hotel," overshadowing the Adlon and the Hilton. The establishment boasts over 150 rooms and has also been adorned with a two-Michelin-starred restaurant, Fischers Fritz.
At present, hotel guests can continue reserving a room till the end of this year. It's yet to be revealed what the future holds for the property post-2024.
