The entire team boarded the aircraft. - The Bayern coach, Tuchel, mostly traveled in the team bus by himself.
Head down, Bayern's sporting director Max Eberl arrived at the VIP terminal at Munich airport shortly after 8 pm on Saturday evening as the team boarded the bus. Conspicuously missing was their coach, Thomas Tuchel (50).
Tuchel opted out of flying back with the team after their 2:4 defeat in Hoffenheim. Instead, he boarded the team bus that had taken them to Sinsheim and was set to return with just equipment and other miscellany. Accompanied by athletics coach Nicolas Mayer (42) and Barry, who is departing the record champion team after the season, they embarked on the three-hour journey back to Munich by bus rather than opting for the more comfortable flight option. Tuchel had flown with the team the day before on Friday.

Barry was also spotted at the exclusive end-of-season party held at Munich's high-end Käfer restaurant on Whitsunday. He exited the event on crutches at 2:37 pm.
On this bus ride together, the three likely had ample time for discussions about their 15-month tenure at Bayern. Frustrated about the team's sports performance following the final whistle in their last game and missing the runners-up spot, Tuchel expressed his disappointment with the team's road record.
Bayern are only fourth in the away table, and their worst statistic is their staggering 33 conceded goals while away from home. Only five other teams allowed more goals than Bayern (Augsburg, Hoffenheim, Gladbach, Darmstadt, Bochum), with even relegated Cologne conceding 32 fewer goals.
Tuchel expressed his frustration: "We had ten minutes remaining in Stuttgart to prevent them from scoring. They scored two and celebrated. We had the opportunity to make it 3-0, 4-0, and 5-0 in Heidenheim, but we lost 3-2 - stadiums celebrated way too often during our time here."
The imminent arrival of a new coach will have to address the reasons for this subpar away performance - if Bayern can find a suitable replacement soon.
