The average room rate in Las Vegas during Super Bowl weekend is expected to be $573
According to new projections, the average daily room rate for a hotel room in Las Vegas during Super Bowl 58 weekend will be $573.
That’s the highest amount on record for a Super Bowl weekend, according to hospitality industry data analytics firm STR.
Chris Klauda said: “The unique demand for the Super Bowl is driven not only by the game, but also by the festivities leading up to the event and the attractions that Las Vegas offers, which is achieved at record-breaking prices The perfect recipe,” STR Insights senior director of marketing said on Monday.
Additionally, Truist Securities analyst Barry Jonas recently predicted that rates on the Las Vegas Strip could reach record highs as the Super Bowl gets underway.
Online travel booking site Priceline recently saw a 33% increase in Las Vegas hotel searches during Super Bowl bookings.
Consider neighboring communities
Rising prices and increased demand for Las Vegas hotel rooms prompted some visitors to stay in neighboring communities from Feb. 9-11.
If you want to save money or avoid the crowds, consider staying nearby," Christina Bennett, a consumer travel expert at Priceline, told Priceline. These locations include North Las Vegas, Boulder City and Henderson.
Priceline recommends booking tourist hotel rooms as soon as possible to get cheaper prices. Flights to Las Vegas should also be booked soon due to high demand.
According to current projections from the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), more than 330,000 visitors are expected to attend the game and the days leading up to the legendary event.
Airport Travel Advice
Many Super Bowl visitors are expected to fly into Harry Reid International Airport.
"We expect the airport to be crowded this weekend, but it will be more spread out as fans arrive throughout the week," said Joe Rajchel, public information administrator for the Las Vegas Airport.
He said the airport "could be very busy as fans leave" on the Monday after the game.
To cope with increased passenger traffic, airports are adopting a so-called "4-3-2-1 plan."
This includes:
- 4 hours before departure: Start planning your trip to the airport, checking traffic conditions and average wait times for rideshare vehicles. Return your rental car.
- 3 hours before departure: Arrive at the airport. Check your luggage.
- 2 hours before departure: Queue at security.
- 1 hour before departure: Arrive at the gate and prepare to board.
