Captives Featured in Hamas Video - Terrorists held young women captive.
The relatives of the five kidnapped Hamas hostages - Liri Albag, Naama Levy, Agam Berger, Karina Ariev, and Daniella Gilboa - are fearful their cases might be forgotten, so they've decided to release more disturbing images seven months after their children's disappearance. They also want to apply pressure on their own government to renegotiate a prisoner exchange agreement with Hamas.
More footage has surfaced revealing the inhumane behavior of the terrorists toward the five young women just after their capture on October 7, 2023. This new video displays how the Palestinian militants treated these young hostages. They commented, "You can get pregnant," or "You are so beautiful."
Liri Forced to Slave for Her Gaza Captors
There's evidence that Liri was kept imprisoned in a Gaza family's nursery in the early days following her kidnapping. DNA analysis of bloodstains in an apartment that Israeli forces invaded confirmed this. Pictures published by the military show a white and pink closet, toys, and a fan, among other items.
Liri was forced to clean the family's house and toilets and cook for them, without being allowed to eat any food herself. After a duration of 37 days in captivity, she was permitted to shower for the first time.
Her family knows this because Liri encountered other Israeli hostages who had been recently released. Liri's whereabouts are unknown since April.
Naama's Horrifying Images Circulated Globally
Naama Levy (19) is likely the best-known of the five girls. Terrifying images of her circulated worldwide, depicting her with a cloth over her crotch, covered in blood, and bleeding as she was dragged into the back of a van by an armed terrorist.
Mother Ayelet Levy-Shahar gained insights into her daughter's situation from released hostages: "She talked and talked," she reported to "Jüdische Allgemeine." "Because she had been alone with her kidnappers for a long time and couldn't talk to anyone." This information reassured Ayelet a bit, as it suggested her daughter was still mentally stable.
Agam Refuses to Cook on Saturday
Agam Berger, a music student and violinist, was involved in helping underserved children before her kidnapping. Her mother learned that Agam had been placed with a family and forced to cook for them.
However, "She is strong, and she refused to do it on Shabbat, the holy Saturday." Her mother is hopeful that her daughter didn't lose her faith and that justice will prevail. In March, the mother said, "I don't know how much longer I can keep this up."
Karina Ariev wanted to study psychology before her abduction. She speaks both Hebrew and Russian with her family. On the day of her capture, she managed to call her sister and mother briefly, stating, "Get on with your lives."
Scant information is publicly available about the situation of Daniela Gilboa. Before her kidnapping, she was an exceptional student who played and wrote music.
