Goalkeeper Collapses, Ambulance Arrives on Field - Terrifying car accident in the Spanish soccer league!
During Getafe's home match against Mallorca, goalkeeper David Soria (age 31) sustained a serious injury and had to be removed in an ambulance. In the 73rd minute, Soria attempted to clear the ball outside the penalty area, collided with Mallorca's Cyle Larin, and landed heavily on the ground.
Members of the medical staff rushed to assist Soria, and a blanket was used as a sight blocker for the players. The match was halted for 11 minutes while Soria was transported away. Getafe's coach, José Bordalas (aged 60), mentioned that some players on the field experienced emotions so intense they cried.
Sources report that Soria is currently being examined in a hospital, where he must undergo more tests and evaluations. Bordalas shared, "It was a massive shock for all of us. We were absolutely stunned. The doctor told me that they'd take him for observation and conduct a CT scan. We simply must wait."
The accident resulted in Getafe losing their 1:0 advantage. Goals scored by Muriqi (90.) and former Stuttgart star Maffeo (90.+3) helped Mallorca secure their victory. Both teams had already confirmed their league survival before this game.
