What transpired?
Kenin, during a match against Italian Lucia Bronzetti (25), requested a break due to rain. The officials denied her plea, causing Kenin to lose her composure. Already having placed her racket in her bag, she retrieved it once more and yelled at the referees, "You stupid assholes!"
Her actions did not sit well with the Italian fans, who booed every move Kenin made. This escalated Kenin's anger even further.
She then won the next point and responded with, "Fuck you" towards the stands. Luckily, these two verbal outbursts that warrantee disciplinary actions were not punished.
Eventually, the match was interrupted for some time. Nonetheless, Kenin triumphantly won with a score of 6:3 and 6:2. The confrontation with the crowd seemed to have ignited an extra burst of motivation in her.
