Emergency responders, including firefighters and police, descended upon Rosenthal Straße in Leipzig-Mitte following a blaze ignited on the sixth floor of a high-rise building. They were tasked with rescuing numerous residents and providing medical aid to those in need. The fire department classified this as a "mass casualty incident."
During their efforts, they stumbled upon a figure lying without life. CPR was administered, and the individual underwent severe trauma.
Nine individuals were seriously affected by both the fire and the immense smoke generation, according to the fire department. In addition, 45 people saw lighter injuries as a result of this fire.
Three fire engines participated in the operation. By 4 p.m., the fire was under control, and firefighters declared it extinguished. The origin of the fire, however, remains a mystery. The road was shut down for the duration of the operation.
