Alonso's Threefold Strategy - Ten days of intense action and Wirtz's return to form.
Bayer Leverkusen's stunning record of 50 unbeaten matches has them aiming for an even more impressive accomplishment: the treble of winning the championship, Europa League, and DFB Cup. Robert Andrich (29) shares the team's desire, stating, "We're looking forward to it all, we're hungry for everything, and we want to win all three games."
After their recent 5-0 victory in Bochum, coach Xabi Alonso (42) expressed his team's determination, saying, "We're taking two days off before giving it our all. We've got ten days to go all out for everything."
Florian Wirtz (21), who suffered an injury to his right thigh, is due to recover in time for the Europa League final against Atalanta Bergamo on May 22 in Dublin.
Alonso's Plans: Wirtz in the Starting Lineup Against Augsburg
Wirtz, who didn't play in Bochum, is expected to make an appearance in the last home game on Saturday against FC Augsburg and receive the applause he deserves for his impressive season before the championship celebration.
According to Alonso: "We've got a plan for Flo. If things go well, he might be able to join training again on Wednesday or Thursday. He should make an appearance in the Augsburg game, which would be beneficial before the two finals."
Will Wirtz's injury risk him being ruled out for the finals?
"We'll have to see how it progresses," says Alonso. "I'm not worried yet, we're not being overly pessimistic at the moment."
