In a rare occurrence in recent months, a rocket alert sounded in and around Tel Aviv on a Sunday. Locals described multiple loud blasts that could be heard in the city's core. Surprisingly, no reports of casualties or property damage were initially reported.

The militant group Hamas from the Gaza Strip took responsibility for the rocket launch.
