The suspect escaped. - Teenage ballerina dies during water skiing session
Last Saturday near Miami Beach (Florida), a tragic accident took place: Ella, on water skis, was being tugged behind a boat when she unexpectedly fell into the water. As she waited to be picked up, another boat crashed into her. Although wearing a life jacket, her injuries were too severe, and she passed away. Shockingly, the perpetrator just fled the scene after causing this fatal collision.
Witnesses described a large amount of blood in the water. Ella's family and authorities are offering a reward of $20,000 (around 18,500 euros) for any information about the criminal behind this incident. On Tuesday, investigators retrieved a boat connected to the case, as reported by Forbes and other sources. The owner is working with law enforcement but has not yet been apprehended.
Ella Grant was the granddaughter of US Ambassador to Belgium, Michael M. Adler, and the great-granddaughter of Holocaust survivors. She was an avid dancer and performed in over 100 shows with the Miami City Ballet. Her passing has brought immense sorrow to her loved ones. "We are devastated to bid farewell to our beloved niece Ella," said her aunt on Facebook. "She brought joy, laughter, and love into our lives. I love you, Ella Bella."
Her father, Matthew, expressed his heartbreak in a letter read during her memorial service, as relayed by the Miami Herald: "Her life was taken away much earlier than it should have been. The world was denied the chance to witness all the amazing things she could have achieved. However, she will forever remain with us, both in our hearts and in the spirits of her friends and family."
Ella will be fondly remembered by her parents and younger siblings, Jaden and Adalynn.
