Tall Man Allegedly Bodyslams Short Woman at Hard Rock AC

A guy from New Jersey arrested for roughing up a woman while she was playing a slot machine at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City won't be released on bail, as an Atlantic County judge ruled this week.

Timothy Mitchell, who's 6' 5'' tall, was allegedly caught on camera picking up the 4' 11'' woman and slamming her to the ground. He then seemingly left before returning to assault her again, with witnesses and security trying to shield her, prosecutors say.

After being tossed around, the woman managed to wriggle out of her sweatshirt as Mitchell was trying to pull it.

Denies Being with Victim

The target of the alleged attack had been in a previous relationship with the suspect. She had recently applied for a temporary restraining order against him, according to the court files, and the authorities classified this as a domestic violence incident.

During the court proceedings, Mitchell, however, claimed to have never had a relationship with the victim. He told the judge he had only met her through an escort service.

"I don't know this girl from a can of paint," Mitchell said, as reported by Breaking AC. "I don't even know her name. I call her Chrissy."

Yet, the victim later turned down medical care and objected to pressing charges against Mitchell, since she had pending warrants.

Deputy New Jersey Attorney General Nicole Wise argued before the judge that Mitchell posed a danger to society and should be held in custody. She invoked his lengthy criminal record and his probation status at the time of the attack.

"He only managed to comply with the law for brief periods of time during his life," Wise mentioned. "And those times were probably when he was in jail."

Violent Background

Mitchell has 13 indictments on his record, with seven mentioning acts of violence, including flinging bodily fluids in the direction of law enforcement officials, Breaking AC writes.

Judge Garrabrant concurred with the prosecutor's assessment.

"His criminal record spans 25 years," she commented. "He has failed to live peacefully since reaching the age of adulthood."

Finally, she mandated that Mitchell stay locked up until the case is resolved.
