The remarkable gymnast's fondness for Swift's music is well-known. In a 2021 video by the American organization 'Alliance for Women in Media', Simone expressed her admiration for Taylor and her music, saying, "I can't even explain how much I love Taylor and her music."
During the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Simone experienced mental health issues which ultimately led to her withdrawal from the team final and the all-around final, as well as missing out on three other individual events.
Taylor Swift took notice of the situation and expressed her support by posting on the X platform, previously known as Twitter, "I cried when I saw you." She added, "I'm so happy I've gotten to see you all these years, but this week has been a lesson in emotional intelligence and resilience."
Impressed by Swift's words, Simone has now chosen Taylor's hit "...Ready For It?" as her theme for her competitions. Fans of both superstars are elated, with many taking to social media to express their excitement: "What a perfect match!" and "It gives me goosebumps just watching."
Yet, Simone's participation in the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris remains uncertain. She needs to qualify first through the competitions in the United States.
