Suspected Caesars Palace Abductor Claims Meth Quantity Consumed was Fitting 'for a 12-Year-Old'
In an unusual jailhouse chat, Matthew Mannix, a 35-year-old man from Golden, Colorado, who allegedly held a woman captive at Caesars Palace for six hours on Tuesday, July 11, explained his erratic actions as the result of a "psychotic episode" instead of the illegal substances he and the supposed captive had abused for several days beforehand.
Mannix spoke with KLAS-TV/Las Vegas and said, "We only used a little meth. It was just enough for a small child, even less than that."
KLAS also disclosed that Mannix would be extradited to his home state for a kidnapping charge after he addresses the same charge in Clark County.

During the discussion, Mannix additionally provided his explanation for shattering the window in his Octavius Tower guest suite, dropping several pieces of furniture 21 stories onto a Caesars Palace pool deck, resulting in $50,000 worth of damage.
"I thought the furniture was... pretty worn out. I just thought I was doing everyone a favor by throwing it out the window," he shared.
Luckily, nobody was harmed by the falling items because the area was emptied by authorities.
Mannix stated that he came to Las Vegas to escape the "false" kidnapping charge he received in Colorado. While he pleaded guilty, Mannix explained that he "didn't actually kidnap her. She was just in my apartment, and the cops came and I barricaded us inside."
Mannix also made a heartfelt request to remain in Las Vegas.
"I really want to stay. Please let me stay, don't make me leave, please. I love it here; it's the best city on Earth."
Mannix reportedly stayed at the STRAT on Sunday, until being ejected from the resort on Monday.
