Steve Wynn spotted at Donald Trump's New Hampshire victory party

Billionaire Steve Wynn has largely stayed out of the public eye since resigning from Wynn Resorts in February 2018. The 81-year-old has been selling luxury real estate in South Florida. But he clearly remains interested in politics and supports his old friend Donald Trump in his fight to regain the White House.

Trump won his second straight primary in New Hampshire on Tuesday night. The former president received about 55% of the vote, while Nikki Haley received 43%.

Iowa and New Hampshire both went for Trump. Trump, also a billionaire who, like Wynn, develops and owns casinos in Atlantic City, is increasingly likely to face President Joe Biden again in November.

Before leaving the casino industry, Wynn was a staunch supporter of the Republican Party and served as finance chairman of the Republican National Committee. Wynn was on hand to celebrate Trump in Nashua on Tuesday night as he continues to pave the way for his party's presidential nomination for a third consecutive term.

Wynn picks it

During Trump's victory speech Tuesday night, the former president told his supporters that the campaign was looking forward to the next Nevada primary. Haley did not campaign in the Silver State, instead focusing her efforts on South Carolina, where she served as governor.

"I heard Nikki say, 'Going to South Carolina now!' Well, I love South Carolina, but you know, she forgot one thing. Next week it's Nevada," Trump said.

We have a guy here from Nevada. "Steve Wynn," Trump told the enthusiastic crowd.

Wynn has not made any donations to Trump in 2024, according to campaign finance records. Wynn has lived in Florida since 2018 and is a supporter of Gov. Ron DeSantis, donating $100,000 to his 2022 re-election.

DeSantis dropped out of the presidential race last week after a disappointing performance in Iowa. DeSantis subsequently endorsed Trump, despite the two having had a bitter feud over the past year.

The 2024 Republican primary could be Trump’s. The latest odds and political betting exchanges suggest the billionaire has a better than 95% chance of running for the Republican Party against incumbent Joe Biden.

However, Haley vowed to continue running.

"This race is far from over. There are still dozens of states that need to go," Haley said Tuesday night.

Big pocket opens

Haley is financially backed by the Koch network, one of the world's richest families. However, Trump is expected to meet with Dr. Sheldon Adelson founded and ran Las Vegas Sands until his death in 2021, and her widow, Miriam Adelson, soon Will have his own billionaire.

Adelson, who is worth $33 billion, Forbes reported this week, said she is waiting for Republican voters to decide before she spends her money generously. During the 2020 election cycle, Drs. Adelson and her husband, Trump, have $180 million.

Last fall, Adelson acquired a majority stake in the NBA's Dallas Mavericks for $3.5 billion.
