Mbappe, Kroos, and company. - St. Pauli's emerging talents take on European Championship veterans
Not a single player from FC St. Pauli could make it onto a roster for their national team for the European Championship in Germany.
As the selections for the warm-up matches in early June start to appear, several players from the second division champions have been included.
Danel Sinani (27), who scored the goal that secured promotion (2:1) for the Kiez-Klub in Wiesbaden, has been called up for two crucial matches with Luxembourg. His team will travel first to France to face Kylian Mbappe's squad on June 5. The following match on June 8 will be played against Belgium in Luxembourg City.
There's also a chance that Manolis Saliakas (27) might get the opportunity to face off against the German national team. If Greece's interim coach, Nikolaos Papadopoulos, keeps his promise, Saliakas, who's had a promotion from St. Pauli, will be part of their lineup for the match on June 7 in Mönchengladbach against Malta.
There's a high probability that Karol Mets (Estonia) and Nikola Vasilj (Bosnia-Herzegovina) will also be called up for upcoming test matches in due course.
However, Eric Smith (27), who received his first nomination for Sweden, will not be able to participate in the June 5 match against Denmark or the June 8 match against Serbia due to personal reasons.
