Following Real Madrid's elimination in the Champions League, - Sportsbook maker pokes fun at Bayern Munich's Kane!
Following Bayern Munich's loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-finals, gambler Paddy Power made a hurtful quip about star forward Harry Kane (30).
Kane has still not won a trophy this season after their defeat against Real Madrid. Kane, the top scorer, spent 14 years with Tottenham Hotspur - and there he also failed to claim a club title. His goal was to break the curse and one of the main reasons for his transfer to Bayern.
Despicable: Irish bookie Paddy Power ridiculed Kane's title deficit with an ad campaign. In front of the Allianz Arena after Bayern's Champions League elimination, a sign read: "Welcome to Munich. Now Tottenham's partner."
The Wembley final against Borussia Dortmund was almost in sight. In the end, it was a mistaken referee decision that prompted Bayern's demise.
Following the defeat, Kane shared his dismay in a post on "X": "Deeply disappointed. It was hard to swallow last night."
It seems that Paddy Power sees no need for empathy: "We never imagined Harry Kane's bad fortune could get any worse," the website says.
"But here we are. It appears he can't even reach the trophy case on the shoulders of giants. On the bright side, though, Bayern Munich should consider themselves Kane's second family."
