Sports Betting Expert Doug Kezirian Joins The Only Players Network
Sports betting expert Doug Kezirian, who has deep roots in the Las Vegas gambling scene, recently collaborated with the new sports wagering content platform, Only Players.
Previously associated with ESPN for more than a decade, Kezirian now serves as the main host for Only Players, alongside the roles of Chief Content Officer, Senior Betting Analyst, and principal on-air talent. The mission is to introduce 'Wager Watch with Doug Kezirian' in Las Vegas, according to the Only Players website. The combination of his two decades of broadcasting experience, half of which was at ESPN, his betting knowledge, and his exclusive access makes him a rare commodity in the industry.
Post his 11-year tenure at ESPN, where he played a crucial role in launching the much-talked-about "Daily Wager" show, Kezirian faced layoffs due to the cost-cutting measures initiated by parent company Walt Disney.
Only Players could potentially use Kezirian's betting prowess to capitalize on each of their endeavors. With sports betting legally sanctioned in 35 states and Washington D.C., the intersection of gaming and media companies is on the rise. Some of these collaborations have yielded fruitful results, while others are currently in the wait-and-see phase, and a few are Exhibit A for failed partnerships.
Could Kezirian Elevate Only Players?
Kezirian's accomplishments in sports betting are noteworthy. He pocketed $58,000 in the William Hill College Football Challenge and a whopping $299,000 in an NFL contest. As these numbers suggest, he has an acute understanding of the sports gambling world and the strategies involved.
The combination of television partnerships and sponsorships with sportsbook operators might be a future possibility for Only Players. While no clear signs of direct marketing or sponsorship agreements have surfaced, Kezirian's presence could entice viewers to his daily 30-minute show, which will be accessible through podcasts.
Only Players is reportedly steering more towards a linear television model, as per the New York Post.
Kezirian’s Experience Can Be a Boon
One may argue that Kezirian could also have a profound impact on Only Players in a different way. Just before ESPN chose to go public with his displacement, Kezirian was instrumental in establishing the highly successful “Daily Wager” show. The show boasted impressive ratings during its time in Las Vegas, which led to the deplorable decision of relocating it to Bristol, Connecticut - ESPN’s headquarters.
Kezirian, a native of Los Angeles, originally made his way to Las Vegas to assume the position of sports director at the local ABC channel. He still calls the iconic city home.
