Topping all major sports events with a robust 34% fandom, it's the ultimate event of the year! 100M+ people glued to their TVs last year, that's equal to almost 31% of the US population! No matter which country you're in, chances are 1 in every 2 people will tune in. And if that isn't enough, you can always enjoy the NFL experience in person by shelling out $1,598.31, or 18.9% of the average 2023 championship ticket cost ($8,600).
Next in line is America's classic pastime: baseball. The MLB World Series rakes in 19% of the votes and $1,265.99 per fan. It's one of those events where even the older generation would love to relive their glory days.
Finally, the NBA Finals swoop in at 3rd place with 16% of the votes, averaging $2,259.05 per ticket. If you're a die-hard basketball fan, visiting the NBA Finals is a must. The high-intensity action and team spirit make it a remarkable event to witness in person.

The Grand Slam is the 1st runner-up for money spent by fans, averaging $1,432.22. At the US Open tournaments, for instance, average grand slam tennis final prices are $755 for women and $2,220 for men's finals. And guess what? Courtside seats will cost $2,250 for women or a steep $7,000 for men's.
In stark contrast, the FIFA World Cup (4th) comes in as the most budget-friendly event to watch. It's the 2nd most popular sports tourney, yet fans only have to pay an average of $1,020.20 to attend.
The Formula One Grand Prix (5th place) also attracts price-conscious sports fans, with an average cost of $955.44.
The skewed average prices continue! The NBA Finals follow at 7th, where fans will part with $2,259.05, and Stanley Cup Finals (6th) at $631.11.
Guess which comes last? That'd be the Masters golf tournament, rounding up the rankings with $957.07 per fan attendance. Then, The Masters (7th) comes in with a total of $957.07 per ticket.

The FIFA World Cup is the most accessible event for fans, with our participants prepared to pay 119% over the standard ticket price. While the average 2022 admission price was $855, enthusiasts were happy to spend $1,020.20 to acquire a ticket.
On the other hand, the NBA Finals are the most unattainable sporting event, with viewers capable of only paying 11.9% of the recent norm ticket price. In 2023, the NBA Finals' admission average cost $6,080.52, but respondents were ready to expend only $722.12 to gain entry.

It's evident that sports is a crucial aspect of life, sometimes accompanied by significant monetary obligations. Fortunately, fans have several alternatives to attend championships while not depleting their funds entirely - for instance, selecting more reasonably priced seating areas, attending non-final events, or simply following the action from their homes.
Research Methods
In May 2024, we performed a comprehensive survey of 3,000 North American sports enthusiasts. The average age of the participants was 40.8 years. The demographic sample comprised 75.1% males, 24.2% females, 0.4% non-binary individuals, and 0.3% transgender people.
