Silverton Casino Adopts Circa Sports for Sportsbook Management
Circa Sports is broadening its reach within Las Vegas by operating the race and sportsbook at Silverton Casino Lodge as of January 1, 2024. At present, this suburban casino's race and sportsbook is overseen by William Hill, an arm of Caesars Entertainment. Derek Stevens, Circa's co-founder and CEO, broached the subject during a recent gathering with the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB).
Stevens shared, "This is a venture we've been cultivating with the Silverton for quite a while. It will be another satellite sportsbook within the state, necessitating a significant facelift for the property and an investment on our part. We intend to recruit all employees, and they'll all be Circa Sports staffers."
The circumspection surrounding Circa's entrance into the Silverton Casino Lodge is due to a temporary sportsbook being inaugurated on January 1. This timeframe coincides with the flurry of college football bowl matches and precedes the Super Bowl. The renovated long-term facility is anticipated to be up and running before the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, a much-admired sporting event in the United States.
Circa's Nevada Descent Continues
With its sportsbooks installed in its namesake establishment, D and Golden Gate casinos, as well as Tuscany Suites & Casino and Pass Casino, all situated in downtown Las Vegas, Circa Sports extends its presence in Nevada. Circa also marked its entrance into Northern Nevada by teaming up with Legends Bay Casino in Sparks last year.
Combining the Silverton into the equation bumps its count up, signifying that Circa Sports is a popular destination for bettors despite limited physical locations in Nevada. Rivals such as Caesars/William Hill and MGM Resorts International maintain a far more significant presence in the state.
In addition to its affinity for bettors who make educated/sharp wagers, Circa also has an edge acquiring a larger market share in the state. Its yearly NFL contests, Circa Million and Circa Survivor, pull in a vast number of participants who must visit a Circa-operated sportsbook to register.
As of late July, Circa carves out the third-largest Nevada sportsbook market share slot, sitting behind Caesars/William Hill and MGM.
Silverton and Circa Sports: A Realistic Coupling in Nevada
The fact that Circa is buying up the sportsbook at the Silverton aligns with its prudent strategy for expansion. Some competitors have plunged into almost every state with legal betting, whereas Circa has a more reserved approach, prioritizing states with favourable regulations and tax schemes.
In the wings, there are several casinos in Nevada—encompassing Las Vegas and Reno/Lake Tahoe areas—that house sportsbook facilities which might eventually get relinquished to Circa Sports.
Beyond Silicon Valley, Circa Sports provides mobile sports wagering in Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, and Kentucky.
