The Miami Heat will miss the next two weeks after guard Tyler Herro injures his right ankle.
Herro, the former NBA Sixth Man of the Year, underwent an MRI that revealed a Grade 2 ankle sprain. He will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
Herro sprained his ankle in the first quarter of last week's win over the Memphis Grizzlies. He attempted a shot and clashed with Grizzlies center Jaren Jackson Jr.
I felt it when it happened," Herro said."I knew it in my heart, and I heard a crunching sound in my ankle. I thought, ‘Yeah, that’s it. ’”
In the first 8 games of this season, Hiero averaged 22.9 points, 4.6 assists and 1.4 steals per game, which is the highest record of his career. He also posted career-high shooting percentages: 44.7% from the field and 41% from three-point range.
Time Loves Heroes: Injured Again
Herro broke his shooting hand early in the 2023 NBA playoffs and missed nearly all of last year's postseason.
Without Herro, the Heat still won the Eastern Conference and secured a spot in the NBA Finals.The Denver Nuggets defeated the Heat to win the 2023 NBA Championship, but Herro never recovered in time to make a cameo appearance in the NBA Finals.

The Heat, without Herro, are in the midst of a five-game winning streak after starting the season 1-4.
The Heat narrowly defeated the Detroit Pistons 103-102 in their season opener. They then lost four straight games to potential playoff teams the Boston Celtics, Minnesota Timberwolves, Milwaukee Bucks and Brooklyn Nets.
Since then, the Heat have found their shooting rhythm and won five games in a row. They have played 10% of their games this season and currently rank third in the Eastern Conference.
The Heat continued their winning streak with back-to-back wins over the weekend. They fought back from a 19-point deficit to defeat rookie Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs.

Robinson played a team-high 36 minutes against the Spurs and scored 26 points against the Heat.
