Due to a three percent likelihood,... - Shocking development in the NBA!
Once again, the NBA Draft lottery has caused chaos!
Originally, the Atlanta Hawks had a slim chance of winning the first pick - only 3% to be precise. However, they managed to slip into the play-in tournament despite their poor record, narrowly missing out on a spot in the playoffs.
Unlike in the NFL where the worst team gets the first pick, the NBA uses a lottery system. The Detroit Pistons (14 wins, 68 losses) and the Washington Wizards (15 wins, 67 losses) had the highest probability with 14%. But surprisingly, the Wizards ended up with the second pick, while the Pistons may only select at spot 5.
The NBA Draft will be held on June 24 at the Barclays Center in New York. Unlike last year when Victor Wembanyama was selected, there isn't a clear front-runner for the first pick this time.
Two Frenchmen, Alexandre Sarr (19) from the Perth Wildcats and Zaccharie Risacher (19) from the Eurocup team Mincidelice JL Bourg en Bresse, currently have the best chances.
There's also a possibility that the Hawks won't keep the pick. The team is in limbo as reports suggest they could trade one of their superstars - either Trae Young or Dejounte Murray. Young is rumored to be a target for the LA Lakers, while Murray is in the crosshairs of the New Orleans Pelicans. If they trade one of these stars, they could use their number one pick to acquire another superstar in return.
So get ready for an exhilarating NBA offseason. All because of a 3% probability!
