An article focusing on basketball. - Shock victory for Seawolves against Ludwigsburg.

Rostock Seawolves can take a breather for now as they fight to remain in the German Basketball League. On Tuesday night, the team led by Head Coach Christian Held achieved a stunning 91-85 (42:32) victory against MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg. The club from Mecklenburg received assistance from Hamburg, as the Towers won against fellow competitors Crailsheim with a score of 94-88. Consequently, the Seawolves now have two additional wins compared to the 17th-ranked team on the leaderboard with three games still to play.

The match started out evenly matched, but the Seawolves managed to establish a 15-6 lead. Despite the lead shrinking to six points by the end of the first quarter, Rostock managed to keep Ludwigsburg at bay in the second period and leads 42:30 shortly before halftime.

In the third quarter, Rostock remained more effective and even extended their lead to 16 points. Nonetheless, the game remained tense. Ludwigsburg battled their way back to 84-86 with just 13 seconds remaining, but Held's team held its composure and didn't let the crucial victory escape. Sid Marlon-Theis and Robin Amaize sealed the deal with a total of four free throws. The top scorer for the home side was Tyler Nelson, who scored 31 points.
