Brad's family name gaining negative attention. - Shiloh no longer desires to be addressed as Pitt.
Ever since Angelina Jolie (48), former wife of Brad Pitt, filed for a divorce in 2016, there has been a continuous battle between the ex-couple, affecting their six shared children (three biological, three adopted). The children have been growing increasingly distant from their father, forming a tight bond with their mother. They prefer to identify themselves only by their names, without including the last name of their father.
Vivienne's elder sister, Zahara Jolie-Pitt (19), introduced herself at her college just as Zahara Marley Jolie, and her younger sister, Vivienne (15), appeared in a Broadway musical program as Vivienne Jolie. Now, their sister Shiloh is also joining in.
Brad Pitt's third daughter, Shiloh, turned 18 on May 27th. Immediately after her birthday, she filed a legal request to remove the last name of her father, Pitt, from Jolie-Pitt, and be known as Shiloh Jolie instead. The approval for this name change is pending.
It was recently reported that Shiloh would move from her mother's million-dollar mansion in Los Angeles to her father's house in Los Feliz, a neighborhood in Los Angeles, after her 18th birthday. However, it now seems that it may not be the case anymore.
Shiloh's request for a name change hasn't been approved yet, but it is believed to be just a matter of time before it becomes official.
Brad Pitt initially had hopes that he could rekindle his strained relationship with Shiloh now that she was turning 18. A source from Daily Mail stated, "Now that Shiloh is 18, she can decide how she wants to manage her relationship with her father." The same source went on to say that it was Angelina Jolie who was preventing her children from having greater contact with their father after the divorce. But now, it's not up to her anymore.
Despite her decision to no longer share his last name, Brad Pitt still holds deep affection for his daughter. It's said that he would always love her unconditionally. And he is always "just a phone call away" if she, or any of his children, wish to reach out to him.
