Janine Kunze (50) believes communication is essential in a successful relationship. She's been married to Dirk Budach (60) since 2002 and they share two daughters and a son. The TV presenter shared her thoughts on the "NDR Talk Show" on May 24, stating, "The biggest secret is: you shouldn't be afraid to argue. That's how I raised my children."
Kunze and Budach prioritize expressing their feelings and talking openly. "We need to live our emotions and let them out. We should also communicate a lot and laugh together," she added. They also believe in spending quality time together and taking breaks. "Even if we simply go to our favorite hotel in the city," she explained.
"The everyday becomes part of marriage"
Despite a loving relationship, the couple has experienced changes over the years. Janine Kunze, an actress, and her husband, a lawyer and nightclub restaurateur, both work hard. "After 22 years, everyday life has crept into our marriage. I no longer get butterflies in my stomach every time my husband comes home. You don't have these butterflies every day anymore," Kunze confessed.
The couple tied the knot in a Buddhist ceremony in a Thai temple in 2002. To mark their 22nd wedding anniversary in March, Kunze professed her love for Budach on Instagram: "I can't even imagine how hard it must be to love me sometimes, but you've been doing it for over 22 years! [...] I love you to the moon and back," she wrote, sharing pictures from their two-decade-long relationship.
