Around 4:25 pm, a mishap happened on the state road from Langbruck to Klafferstraße, where a man riding his scooter was involved in an accident. It seems as though he had some health issues and accidentally steered right into a left curve, colliding with a power pole and a traffic sign. He traveled for roughly 30 meters in a ditch before eventually crashing without trying to break.
Sadly, the 73-year-old man didn't survive, but his wife, who was sitting on the motorcycle, experienced only minor injuries and was taken to the hospital in Freyung.
The fire departments of Neureichenau and Klafferstraße were called to the scene for traffic management. By 7 pm, the state road was reopened. Collaborating with the Passau Public Prosecutor's Office, additional measures were planned for the next day.
