King Charles' first official portrait sparks fuss. - Seems to appear like a being from the underworld.
The royal couple, King Charles III and Queen Camilla, got an invitation to Buckingham Palace to unveil a painting commissioned for them. The 2.5m tall artwork portrays the king with his hand gripping his sword, featuring a specially requested butterfly on his shoulder.
Not everyone found it appealing, though. Some British citizens shared their negative opinions, calling the portrait "Satan from hell" or a "blood bath." Others saw it as a representation of a villain. This painting has been labelled as the "worst royal portrait" by some individuals.

There is another theory that suggests King Charles III is making a statement about his connection to Count Dracula, the infamous ruler of Wallachia known for his bloodthirst. In 2013, the then Crown Prince cited Queen Mary's relation to Vlad III in an interview with "The Telegraph."

The portrait took Jonathan Yeo, a London-based artist, three years to complete. Yeo had personally met Charles 4 times in preparation for the elaborate painting. He also painted Camilla.
The butterfly above Charles' right shoulder symbolizes the transformation from prince to king, as per the King's request. The painting was originally meant to celebrate his 50-year tenure in a merchant's association.

Taste is subjective, and it's unclear what the king thinks of the artwork. Initially, he was taken aback by the vibrant colors. However, he later gave his blessing.
Queen Camilla reportedly approved the painting as well, telling Yeo, "Yes, you got him." Perhaps, the color signifies love for her, as per her perspective.
