Public tour or viewing day - Schumann and Beethoven Performances Draw Crowds to Philharmonic Orchestra
This Sunday, the renowned Berliner Philharmoniker orchestra will be hosting an "Open Day" event, giving the public a unique glimpse into their world. With the theme "Sharing Music," the day will be filled with concerts, guided tours, workshops, and exhibitions that showcase the entire range of the orchestra's daily activities. The event kicks off with a performance by the orchestra itself, conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin. The program features Clara Schumann's piano concerto with soloist Beatrice Rana, as well as the first movement of Ludwig van Beethoven's Fifth Symphony. Additional highlights include guided tours of normally inaccessible areas of the Philharmonie, chances to make and try out instruments, and two interactive concerts. The nearby Musical Instrument Museum is also taking part in the festivities.
