Santana Concert Extended Rather Than Canceled; Sphere Phishing Incident Reported The upcoming Santana concert in Las Vegas has been extended instead of being canceled, while a phishing incident targeting concert attendees has reportedly taken place.
MGM Resorts International has prolonged Carlos Santana's "Supernatural" performance series at the House of Blues in Mandalay Bay by adding fifteen more dates. The new events are scheduled for January 24, 26, 28, and 31; February 2-4; and May 10, 11, 15, 16, 18, 19, 22, and 23. Tickets will be available from 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 23 through Ticketmaster.
The decision to extend comes amid controversy following Santana's controversial remarks about transgender individuals during a show earlier this summer. During a performance at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino's Etess Arena in Atlantic City, the renowned 76-year-old guitarist told the audience, "When God made you and me, before we came out of the womb, you know who you are and what you are. Later on, when you grow up, and you see things and you start believing that you could be something that sounds good, but you know it ain't right because a woman is a woman and a man is a man—and that's it." Unsatisfied with his original apology, Santana later deleted it from his Facebook page.
Meanwhile, Phish is reportedly in the running for a residency at the Sphere, coming in at number two behind the Eagles. The jam band, who just finished their tour at New York's Madison Square Garden, which is owned by MSG Entertainment, had their first taste of the Sphere's immersive audio system during Trey Anastasio's solo show at New York's Beacon Theatre in August 2022.
Similarly, country music icon George Strait will be performing at Allegiant Stadium on December 7, 2024. Tickets for the show go on sale to the public on Friday, September 22 at 10 a.m. PT.
Carrie Underwood, who has a "Reflection" residency at Resorts World Theatre, has added 18 new dates to her roster. These performances will take place on March 6, 8, 9, 13, 15, and 16; May 22, 25, 26, 29, and 31; June 1; and August 14, 16, 17, 21, 23, and 24. Wynn Nightlife is hosting an action-packed "Ultimate Race Week" series during the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, with various performances scheduled. Marshmello will perform at XS Nightclub on November 15, followed by The Chainsmokers on November 16, and Swedish House Mafia on November 17. Lastly, Calvin Harris will take the stage, accompanied by late-night sets by Diplo and Dom Dolla, on November 18. The weekend will conclude with RÜFÜS DU SOL and Black Coffee performing on November 19.
