Reaching up to 20 degrees Celsius with sunny skies. - Sané is preparing to join the European Championship team.
Thomas Tuchel, age 50, had surprisingly given his Bayern Munich players a day off on Tuesday following their 2-0 win in the Bundesliga against Wolfsburg.
Despite the rest day, Leroy Sané, a 28-year-old DFB star, decided to train at Säbener Straße. The sun was shining brightly, with temperatures hitting 20°C, and Sané was seen wearing a beanie during the intense session.
The goal here was to prepare for the European Championship squad. Sané's stylish beanie also served to keep his abundant hair in check.
Earlier in the day, Sané participated in fitness training with fitness director Prof. Dr. Holger Broich (49) and rehabilitation coach Peter Schlösser (an expert in stabilization exercises, yoga, and Pilates) at Säbener Straße.
Sané has been battling injuries for months. First, it was a patella tendon issue, and more recently, he's been dealing with pubic bone inflammation. Unfortunately, this has limited his ability to join teamwork.
As a result, Sané (10 goals, 13 assists in 42 games this season) has missed five of the last six league games. In the Champions League, he continued to perform at his best despite his injuries. But how about his chances of making it to the European Championship (June 14 to July 14) team?
On Tuesday morning, Sané worked on his fitness through an intensive running session with Noussair Mazraoui (26, who played against Wolfsburg), Sacha Boey (23, currently recovering from a torn ligament in his left hamstring), and Bouna Sarr (32, who sustained a torn cruciate ligament in his knee, with his contract expiring). Sané performed slalom drills, ran from one cone to the next across the field, and even made passes on the resistance rope. The session left him feeling hot and sweaty under his beanie.
If his condition doesn't worsen, national coach Julian Nagelsmann (36) is likely to include him in the European Championship squad.
Coman Returns to Training, Eyes European Championship Nod
Kingsley Coman (27), a left winger for Bayern Munich, has shown progress in his recovery from a torn muscle bundle in his right adductor.
Four weeks ago, Coman suffered the injury, and on Tuesday, he took a significant step towards making a comeback and potentially competing in the European Championship.
Under the supervision of France's fitness coach Cyril Moine (52), Coman once again trained with the ball for the first time. He was joined by his team's rehabilitation coach, Simon Martinello (39).
Coman, who is expected to be sidelined for another two weeks, is determined to recover and secure a place in the European Championship team.
