Body recovered from Berlin waterway - Sad conclusion to a celebration
Rescuers on the lookout noticed something suspicious floating on the canal's surface. Thanks to a witness, they launched a search from the shore and found a piece of clothing.
A firefighter kitted in a survival suit braved the cold waters and swam to retrieve the supposed item. To their surprise, it turned out to be a 37-year-old man, who had gone missing.
His lifeless body was hauled out and immediately accorded first aid. The man, now identifying as the missing person, was rushed to the hospital.
The circumstances surrounding his entry into the water are still unclear.
