Royal Caribbean continues to convert jazz club to smoke-free casino

Royal Caribbean has responded to the call of guests who want to gamble without being affected by cigarette smoke by establishing a smoke-free casino on board.

Reported in March The cruise operator has replaced the "Jazz on 4" club on its Oasis of the Seas and Harmony of the Seas ships with a smoke-free gaming area. "Jazz on 4" is a lounge dedicated to evening jazz music. However, there are rumors that they will be phased out on Royal Caribbean's Oasis-class ships.

Royal Caribbean’s Oasis-class ships are comprised of six of the world’s largest cruise ships. In addition to Oasis of the Seas and Harmony of the Seas, the class of ships also includes Utopia of the Seas, Seasonal Miracle, Allure of the Seas and Symphony of the Seas.

Miracle of the Seas, which just entered service last year, is the world's largest cruise ship with 18 decks and a gross tonnage of 236,857 tons. Four bow thrusters, each with 7,500 horsepower, drive the massive ship at 22 knots. The ship has 2,867 cabins and can accommodate more than 7,000 passengers.

Smoke-free Casino

Each of Royal Caribbean's 25 cruise ships has a casino called Casino Royale. Once the ship is at least 12 nautical miles off the U.S. coast, the slot machines activate and toss cards into the air during table games.

Casino Royale on Wonder of the Seas is a Las Vegas-style casino with 456 slot machines, 27 gaming tables and a high-stakes poker room. Smoking is allowed on the Casino Royale property, one of the few locations on Royal Caribbean cruises where smoking is allowed indoors.

For players who want to escape toxic fumes, Royal Caribbean is eliminating Jazz clubs at four clubs, which often waste space during the day, and replacing them with smoke-free casino rooms. UK-based cruise ship interior refurbishment company Trimline recently issued a statement saying it has replaced Jazz in four clubs with non-smoking casinos, including not only Oasis of the Seas and Harmony of the Seas, but also Oasis of the Seas and Harmony of the Seas. The charm of the ocean.

During the ship's operation, Trimline employees transformed the former jazz room into a smoke-free casino. The projects took approximately two weeks to complete.

Trimline’s team of demolition and relocation specialists, carpenters, electricians, decorators and workers work closely with data, IT and casino commissioning experts to ensure their work is completed efficiently and with minimal disruption to guests and staff, ” The company explained.

“The team worked tirelessly to ensure the work was carried out to the highest standards and we are delighted with the outcome,” added Trimline project manager Billy Morton. “We believe these new smoke-free casinos will provide guests with an enjoyable onboard experience.”

Royal Caribbean has not yet commented on the timeline for replacing jazz in four clubs on Utopia of the Seas, Wonder of the Seas and Symphony of the Seas with smoke-free casinos.
