What's happening over there? - Rose gambles on poker to secure his career in Leipzig.
This coming summer in Leipzig promises to be thrilling...
Coach Marco Rose's (47) contract ends at the conclusion of the present season. Negotiations regarding his contract are scheduled for the summer.
According to the "Leipziger Volkszeitung," AC Milan hold Rose in high regard as a potential replacement for Stefano Pioli.
Rose shared his thoughts at a press conference after the 1:1 tie against Werder: "Usually, I don't delve into such matters. I still have a year left on my contract with Leipzig, and I'm quite content there. If the other side is interested, I'm more than happy to continue as Leipzig's coach next season."
However, he goes on to clarify: "Of course, we need to discuss our ambitions and future plans. Will we lose any players? We have five youngsters who've shown significant progress. But we need stability. We need a clear leadership structure. The players must be certain of their positions."
In essence, Rose is seeking a stable and competitive team that isn't disrupted annually. Xavi Simons' loan to PSG has expired temporarily. Yet, an acquisition is conceivable. Other Leipzig superstars, such as Dani Olmo and Benjamin Sesko, are being targeted and can depart the club immediately in the summer thanks to a departure clause.
Rose has served as Leipzig's coach since September 2022. Last year, the club and the coach agreed on an early contract extension lasting through the summer of 2025. Now, the negotiations recommence anew.
