Excitement in the cup's final match - Ronaldo is suddenly overcome with tears.
Cristiano Ronaldo, aged 39, experienced a loss with his team Al-Nassr in the final of the Saudi Arabian King's Cup. Their opponents were Al-Hilal, against whom they couldn't secure a victory. As a result, Ronaldo has been titleless since he moved to the desert state.
The painful part? After a long-drawn battle, the deciding factor was penalties. The score ended at 5:4 in favor of Al-Hilal. Ronaldo, who managed to convert his kick, crumpled to the ground immediately following the final miss and broke down in uncontrollable tears.
His teammates had to console him and guide him off the pitch. Al-Hilal succeeded in winning the cup for the eleventh time.
Ronaldo's anguish was evident as fans hurled "Messi" chants at the player. Lionel Messi has been Ronaldo's fiercest rival throughout his career, with both players continuously competing for the title of "world's best player." Fans were clearly mocking the Portugal star.
To date, Ronaldo has not won a title in Saudi Arabia. Earlier in the league, Al-Nassr had also suffered defeats at the hand of Al-Hilal, including a penalty shootout loss in April. It's no wonder the legendary player is feeling the heat.
In Jeddah, the fans witnessed an intense clash. Post 90 minutes, the score was tied at 1:1. A total of three red cards were awarded: two to Al-Hilal and one to Al-Nassr. Regardless of this advantage for Ronaldo's team, the game remained scoreless during extra time, resulting in a loss for him.
Thus, the footballing giant is still waiting for his moment of triumph!
